One of those weekends where you get shut down on Plan A and instead turn to Plan B, but c'est la vie....spent Saturday trying to outsmart the forecast by going to Banana Bowls, and Sunday also trying to outsmart the forecast by doing the Skyline Traverse. On Saturday, we got turned around by blowing snow and gale force winds, resulting in about 12 mellow below-treeline scrappy turns and a bent edge on a ski. Sunday was better; despite being shut down by "freezing fog", slow roads, a late start, and a closed trail, we still managed to get in brunch at the teahouse, an 8 mile loop from the South Mesa Trailhead, and a stout month sampler paired with fries, nachos, and several games of Uno at Southern Sun with DILL, who is visiting this weekend and next. NOT ALL IS LOST!
