Bataan Memorial Death March / by Dani Perrot

We all live way too comfortable of lives. In the age of smart phones and compression calf sleeves its easy to forget about our nation's conflicts abroad and turn on March Madness. This last weekend Dani and I were offered the opportunity to stretch our comfort zone a little bit and give back to the men and women who serve our country.

After escaping the office a little early Friday we cruised down to Taos and had a great night of sleep at the El Pueblo Lodge.

We then proceeded to eat our way across Taos to gear up for 26.2 miles of sand and asphalt with 35-50 lbs packs, to march in memory of the American and Philippine soldiers who died at the hands of the Japanese in WWII on the Bataan Peninsula. Many miles in the sun later and a few layers of skin lighter we completed the last physical test before our April trip. I am proud to say that Dani John Jeremiah and I all finished and no tears were shed!
