2|20-2|21: Time to Start Training By Design / by Dani Perrot

So as we start to put together an itinerary for our April trip to the Sierra, Dani and I have come to the realization that although we are confident in our abilities, train with Connie and have invested in lightening our pack weights, there are still a lot of "unknowns" regarding this trip. This week's question was, "how will our bodies respond to back to back large mileage days?" Since we both work Monday-Friday our only opportunity for us to dial this in is on the weekend and lately the wind has not been cooperative for us to get out and blow the legs out on skis. Fortunately birthdays give us extra motivation to "blow up."

Cue photos below of our second attempt to traverse from East Portal to Winter Park and a tour we have been itching to scope out from the Mountain Research Station to Brainard Lake and back to the car via the Sourdough Trail. Totals hit roughly 30 miles and quite a lot of hiking talus, herring boning and side hilling, although with light packs. Enough that the legs passed the test though :)
