“It’s so GREEN here!!!” -Mama P, reacting to driving through Illinois for the first time
We had a super fun, whirlwind, and yet still relaxing long weekend in Peoria mid-September! Mama and Papa D threw one heck of a party for us, and Mama and Papa P came out to join in the festivities!!! We loved getting to visit with all of the family, including the Little and Big G’s. Between fried pickles, lemon merengue pie, smoked meats, and a multitude of other baked goods and fine foods, we certainly did not go hungry. :) Dierker and I got extra lucky this trip and even got to spend a morning at the McCrea family farm— had a great lunch of homemade chili from Grandma McCrea, a tour of the farm, and enjoyed some great conversation with the Tall Man, T-rayne, and the OG McCreas.
Thanks to everyone who came out for the party on Saturday!!! We feel so lucky to be a part of such a warm and loving community.
