Seal Rock / by Dani Perrot

Seal Rock: East Face North Side follows the trees growing out of the slab, then once gaining the ridge, follows the north side all the way up. Then a 40 ft mellow down climb to a rap station...and 165 feet of mostly free-hanging rappel down the north face (shaded side on lookers-right).

After a raucous night watching the Cubs clinch the pennant, Dani and I needed some sleep. So after sleeping in we spent a leisurely morning checking out another 5.Fun route in the Flatirons. Seal Rock is 4-5 pitches of goodness with a 5.4 finger crack and a 150ft free hanging rap off the back which was super fun. We started our hike/approach from the NCAR parking lot and even though we were both feeling about 80% we had a blast, saw only 2 other people and Dani lead 1/2 the pitches! Look out world, it feels like we are finding our groove swapping leads and ticking off high quality low angle multi pitch! :)
