End of the Semester by Dani Perrot

Dierker's last weekend of having to work on three classes worth of final projects and homework is over, co-inciding well with our last building week of big mileage. Had a hard but super fulfilling and fun long run with Ally from Arthur's to Horsetooth and back on Saturday, then taking a page from her book, ran the Hall Ranch loop on Sunday. On both days we lucked out with early starts and some cloud cover to help us mitigate the warmer-than-it's-been temps. Many thanks to Ally on Saturday for sharing her water and Skratch! Would have been a bonk-fest otherwise. Dierker and I have now learned our lesson that the time of year has come that we simply need to carry more water. OK FINEEEE. Very stoked for pedicures and letting that training soak in this week!

Earth Day by Dani Perrot

Thank you Pachamama for an incredible day for a run high above an eastern plains inversion; helped us feel stoked and strong.

April Turns by Dani Perrot

It makes me a little sad to think normally April is one of our peak skiing months in terms of days out and we're only getting out once this month, but at least it's for a good reason. Dierker is so close to being done with the semester, and we were just grateful to get out for a few laps and some time in the mountains on skis together in pretty dang fun conditions! Thank you for a non-windy day in the Park, Mother Earth.

You know it's time to head home when everyone else starts showing up and making non-sensical extra skin tracks that go to the same place...

Big Mileage by Dani Perrot

Last weekend we got in some big mileage, with photos to document. If we can't ski right now due to time constraints, well dammit, we'll run! Training has been super fun, so happy to be able to put mileage on the feet. Saturday did 22.8 w/ 6500 ft of vert in a big loopdeloop from the house to Horsetooth to Arthur's and then back to Horsetooth, then Sunday had a LOVELY friends run with Ally, Flem, and Casey down on part of the Dirty 30 course in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. So fun.

Illinois Couple's Shower! by Dani Perrot

We are so fortunate to have such wonderful families! A couple of weeks ago, we spent a whirlwind weekend back in Peoria and Bloomington for a couple's shower put on for us by the Aunts & Co.! We had a wonderful time, it was so special to be surrounded by so many loving humans. Lots of laughs and fun times, and we even got to see Ev and Taryne's new digs (badass, actual homeowners!!!). Major shoutout to Papa D, Mama D, and Chip for driving us back and forth from Midway, and also Alicia and Joe for hosting the shower at their incredible, pintrest-worthy lakehouse on Lake Bloomington. Love you all!

XOXO,

March 2018: A Month of Adaptation by Dani Perrot

Welp it's been a while but we've certainly been busy! Unfortunately not with skiing but I guess sometimes that's how it goes. Late February I messed up my hamstring (silly enough, while deadlifting in the gym of all things), so I've spent the last few weeks recovering from that while also trying to still train for the Dirty30. I'd say it was a success! Other than that, Dierker spent the month crushing school, commuting, and his job. BA AF. A few photos from that month, excluding the large amount of moments in PT.
