Angel of Shavano, 03 | 14 | 2015 /
After a few weeks of dry and warm, we decided it might be time to start checking out conditions up high. We headed down to Salida on Saturday morning to ski the Angel of Shavano, a snowfield shaped like an angel with its wings outspread just below the summit of 14,200-ish ft Mt. Shavano.
The approach was quite a bit further than we anticipated, and we decided to turn around at the top of our line rather than summit. Things were warming up (fast), and we were already a few hours behind when we should have been heading down. Lovely line, with an incredible view of the Sangre de Cristos to the south. A full day, but a good one as always.

Hidden Valley = Backcountry Classroom /
We took Dill and Kristen up to Hidden Valley to teach them the ways of backcountry skiing-- and we think they left liking it! Mission accomplished. Nice work ladies.

More pow, Meadow Mountain-style /
And the fun continues, with A.C. and Rudy! Very cold powdery touring outside of Allenspark.
The Kings bring the pow /
J&J King, our dearest Jackson-amigos/ski partners, came down to Colorado to crush a Master's defense and ski some deep pow pow. We miss you guys!
XOXO

Crusty Butt Friends Weekend /
An excellent February weekend of inbounds and touring with wonderful friends in CB. The snow conditions left much to be desired, but things were soon to change...
